What parasites does Simparica Trio cover?
Simparica Trio offers comprehensive protection against the most common parasites affecting Australian dogs. This includes prevention of heartworm disease; treatment and control of fleas, ticks (paralysis tick, brown dog tick, and bush tick) and intestinal worms (roundworm and hookworm). It is important to note that Simparica Trio does not provide protection against whipworm or tapeworm, so speak with your vet about whether an additional wormer is required for your dog's circumstances.
How old does my puppy need to be to start Simparica Trio?
You can start protecting your puppy with Simparica Trio from just 8 weeks of age, provided they weigh at least 1.25kg.
Is Simparica Trio safe?
Simparica Trio is considered safe for most dogs when used as directed. It has a wide margin of safety and has been tested across many different dog breeds, including avermectin-sensitive dogs. It can also safely be used in heartworm positive dogs, however it is highly recommended to seek veterinary advice if your dog is not up to date with their heartworm protection, before commencing Simparica Trio.
